HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kevin Mawae is headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The former New York Jets and Tennessee Titans center was one of eight selected for the Class of 2019 today along with Champ Bailey, Pat Bowlen, Gil Brandt, Tony Gonzalez, Ty Law, Ed Reed and Johnny Robinson.
Mawae, of Hawaiian descent, was raised in Louisiana while his father grew up on Kauai. He played 16 seasons in the NFL (1994-2009) and played in 241 games.
Mawae will officially be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, in August.
