HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior baseball team has been selected to finish sixth in the annual Big West Preseason Coaches Poll.
The poll, which is voted on by the conference’s nine coaches, has the Warriors finishing in the same spot that they ended the 2018 season in, compiling a record of 27-24.
Hawaii is coming off back-to-back winning seasons with four All-Big West performers from a year ago in Dylan Thomas (First Team), Maaki Yamazaki (First Team), Ethan Lopez (Second Team) and Adam Fogel (Honorable Mention) returning this spring.
The ‘Bows are the only program to return two 2018 First Team All-Big West selections in the conference.
Reigning Big West Champion Cal State Fullerton received three first-place votes and was selected to defend its title in the poll.
