Warriors move up to second in latest AVCA poll

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team continues their march toward the top of the volleyball summit.

Despite not playing a match last week, the Warriors have moved to second in the latest AVCA Divion-I poll released yesterday.

The Warriors remain undefeated this season (3-0), and currently sit behind defend national champions Long Beach State who are also undefeated on the season with six victories and no losses.

The Warriors secured the second spot following UC Irvine’s loss to Stanford this past weekend.

The team is on a bye this weekend, and will host their annual alumni match Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with a skills challenge followed by the alumni-varsity match at 7:00 p.m.

The Warriors are back in competitive play on Feb, 1 when they host the Stanford Cardinals.
