HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Vibrantly colored cherry blossoms is one of the things Japan is known for. But did you know there are also cherry blossoms in Hawaii?
There are hundreds of trees spread out in Wahiawa painting a beautiful picture of pink treetops and an abundance of blossoms. Many of the trees reportedly trace their roots to a single tree brought from Okinawa.
To celebrate the cherry blossom bloom, there’s a special trolley ride through Wahiawa Town this Saturday.
The “Sakura Safari 2019” is a 90-minute trolley ride through Wahiawa town hosted by the Wahiawa Nikkei Civic Association.
The deadline to register for this year’s trolley rides has already passed, but for updates on future events, email email@example.com.
There is also an annual Sakura Matsuri event in February. It well be held on Feb. 2 at Wahiawa Hongwanji.
