HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Representatives of a locally-owned employment agency are offering to help federal employees impacted by the partial government shutdown find work — and get paid for it quickly during their time of need.
The company, ALTRES, says it will help provide temporary industrial work to 'federal government employees displaced by the government shutdown' until the shutdown ends.
Industrial workers, the company says, are needed in Aiea, Honolulu, Maui and Hawaii Island. Open positions include mail sorters, rental car cleaners and transporters, janitors, landscapers, warehouse workers, and various construction jobs.
The company will also offer a $100 bonus to workers who log more than 40 hours on the job. The company says that employees hired as part of the program can return to their government jobs as soon as the shutdown is over, without needing to provide notice ahead of time.
Applicants can call 447-2988 to make an appointment for Oahu, 877-5572 for Maui, or 329-2882 for Hawaii Island.
