HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Wahine basketball team were blown out at home by CSUN Thursday night by a score of 49-29 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Hawaii (5-11, 1-2 BWC) shot poorly from the floor, converting just 22.2 percent of its shots on the night including 5-of-28 in the first half.
"Defense was not a problem for us tonight," said head coach Laura Beeman in a statement. "We weren't focused at shootaround, and we didn't have our focus throughout the game. We're not a team that can come in and just play, then expect to win. We have to maintain our focus."
The Wahine finished 12-of-54 from the floor and 3-for-23 from three-point territory. The Matadors also shot just 35 percent from the floor and committed 17 turnovers.
Sophomore center Lauren Rewers finished tied with a team-high five points for the 'Bows and led the team in rebounds with seven.
Hawaii will return to action in one week with a visit to Cal Poly on Thursday, Jan. 24 followed by a matchup at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Jan. 26.
