After more than a year on the run, a Chinatown murder suspect is arrested

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After more than a year on the run, the suspect in a Chinatown murder has been arrested in Sacramento, Calif.

Tiseya Eric Puapuaga is accused of fatally shooting Isaac Mamea in front of the Maunakea Liquor and Grocery store on Maunakea Street in September 2017.

Authorities said he fled the scene in a white Toyota Matrix.

He was later identified and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

On Wednesday, Puapuaga was extradited back to Honolulu.

His bail is set at $1 million.

He is scheduled to appear in court next week.
