MAKAKILO (HawaiiNewsNow) - All lanes of Makakilo Drive were reopened Tuesday morning after Board of Water Supply crews completed repairs to an 8-inch water main break.
The roadway had been closed since Sunday afternoon, when the water main first broke.
However, on Monday, officials said the water main, which was previously repaired earlier in the day, broke again and water continued to leak.
The break was noticed as crews were working on repairing the road after fixing the initial break.
BWS said the makai-bound lanes of the roadway, between Anipeahi and Aoloko streets, were reopened shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, and water has been restored to all affected customers.
