HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rainbow Wahine point guard Tia Kanoa was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week after the ‘Bows defeated UC Davis this past weekend.

Kanoa tallied 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Wahine, who won their first conference game of the season against the defending Big West season champions.

“It’s incredible,” she said. “I’m honored. I’m blessed to represent Hawaii - both my culture and my state ... it’s an awesome opportunity for me."

The weekly award is the first of Kanoa’s career. She is also the first UH player to receive the honor since Sarah Toeaina back on Nov. 20, 2017.
