One lane of the Pali is blocked as crews work to clear the road.

PALI HIGHWAY (HawaiiNewsNow) - All lanes of the Pali Highway are now open Saturday evening, according to the Hawaii Department of Transportation.

DOT reported the lanes were open at 5:45 p.m., after crews successfully removed unstable trees on the upper slope of the highway.

Crews worked hard to clear one lane of the Pali Highway that was blocked by a landslide of dirt and debris on Saturday afternoon.

Officials said around 11:50 a.m. that the right lane of the highway in the Honolulu-direction was blocked just after the Castle Junction.

A contractor was called in to address the tree at the top of the location of the landslide, the DOT said.

Meanwhile, Oahu’s windward side was saturated as heavy rains pounded that half of the island since Friday night.
