Kamehameha Hwy. reopens after heavy flooding snarls traffic in windward Oahu

WAIKANE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kamehameha Highway has reopened in both directions, after heavy flooding closed the road – snarling traffic and trapping people in their cars on the windward side of Oahu.

HPD officials say the flooding caused a few cars to get stuck.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Honolulu until 10:45 a.m.

The water level on the roadway was around a foot and half.
