HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - More hot and humid weather is ahead as a low pressure system north of Kauai draws up more tropical moisture and keeps the trade winds away.
A Flash Flood Watch has been extended for Kauai and Niihau. Kauai and Oahu will have the highest chance of showers, with scattered showers still possible for the rest of the island chain. There’s also a chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms for the Big Island Wednesday and Thursday. The threat of heavy rain will diminish over the next 24 hours as the low pulls away.
There’s a small south-southeast swell that will keep a few waves for south-facing shores. A new north-northwest swell arriving Thursday night will bring moderate-level surf, but it’s going to be a short-period swell that should remain below advisory levels.
